About the RoleMacmillan Education - College Press is looking for an Educational Sales Representative to drive sales growth and increase brand visibility across Zimbabwe.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets through effective sales and promotional activities, while developing and maintaining strong relationships with schools, booksellers, government education stakeholders, donor agencies and other key partners.
This role requires someone with a strong understanding of the Zimbabwean education landscape, excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to identify opportunities, respond to market trends and contribute to the growth of the College Press brand.
Role Responsibilities- Achieve sales targets through regular visits to schools, bookshops and other clients, promoting products and increasing brand visibility.
- Develop and implement a regional sales plan, including sales visits and follow-ups, to increase revenue and market share.
- Develop annual sales forecasts for the region and review these quarterly to reflect changes in the market and operating environment.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and changes within the education environment to identify opportunities and support sales growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date regional sales information, including school and bookshop contacts and client databases.
- Prepare and submit fortnightly performance reports and market intelligence to Head Office.
- Manage regional orders and coordinate deliveries to clients, ensuring an efficient and effective service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE), UNICEF, donor agencies, school heads, booksellers and other key stakeholders.
- Review products and provide feedback to Head Office to support product development, market positioning and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments to strengthen College Press's market position and grow market share.
- Live by and promote the values, strategic pillars and principles of the organisation.
- A relevant Diploma or Degree in Education.
- A minimum of 4 years' teaching experience.
- Proven experience developing and implementing large-scale or complex sales campaigns at a provincial or regional level.
- Experience liaising with government officials at a provincial level.
- A strong understanding of the Zimbabwean education landscape.
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Good project management and planning skills.
- A Class 4 Driver's Licence with defensive driving skills.
- A high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience within education publishing, textbook sales or educational materials.
- Experience working with schools, booksellers, government education departments or donor-funded education programmes.
- Experience in regional sales, business development or account management.
