Responsibilities
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable growth of the Technical Ceramics Tubes & Rollers business across North America through a combination of business development, account management, and technical sales.
This role works closely with customers in metals, heat treatment, glass, and other industrial manufacturing sectors to understand operational challenges, develop long-term relationships, and deliver ceramic solutions that improve performance and reliability.
The position requires extensive customer engagement, territory management, cross-functional collaboration, and regular travel throughout the assigned region.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with business objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and target accounts.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and order placement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, operational leaders, engineers, and procurement teams.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes and identify applications for technical ceramic products.
- Support product trials, evaluations, and implementation activities.
- Partner closely with engineering, operations, customer service, and other internal teams to deliver practical customer solutions.
- Monitor market trends, customer activity, and competitive developments.
- Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within CRM systems and provide regular sales forecasts.
- Support pricing, quotation, and contract processes.
- Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory (approximately 75%).
Qualifications
What you'll bring
- Proven success in industrial B2B sales, account management, and business development.
- Experience selling technical, engineered, industrial, refractory, ceramic, thermal processing, metals, or manufacturing-related solutions.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to understand customer manufacturing processes and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Experience building credibility with engineers, plant managers, procurement teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Self-motivated with strong territory planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Experience serving steel, heat treatment, foundry, glass, industrial furnace, or advanced manufacturing customers is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the territory.
- Due to export control requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.15), including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other protected individuals as defined by applicable regulations.
Salary Range $85,000 - $115,000 annually, plus eligibility for a sales incentive plan. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location.
