ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Summary/Objective:
Identify, develop, sell and service customers and markets. Responsible for sales projects and planning, customer service, generating new business, retaining existing business and participating in public/community relations for assigned territories.
Essential Functions:
- Develop itineraries to maintain contact with customers within assigned territories to ensure customer satisfaction and build strong personal relationships with company owners and other key personnel with products and services and to determine additional needs.
- Monitor business leads utilizing the established Major Bid Process to include monitoring CMD's, developing referrals, contacting non-active customers, monitoring issuance of permits, and servicing current customers. Attend major bid openings as needed or directed.
- Prepare quotes for customers providing information on pricing in accordance with established pricing matrix, quality of products, and services. Place orders with appropriate department and monitor product and delivery of order.
- Troubleshoot customer complaints/problems regarding billing, quality, quantity, and service. Provide efficient resolutions to instill customer satisfaction. Assist Billing and Credit Departments in resolving account issues.
- Actively participate in trade fairs, county fairs, bull roasts, meetings, seminars, and other community events to promote Chaney Enterprises products and services. Entertain customers to develop and enhance effective customer relations.
- Compile information and prepare accurate and timely daily sales reports and monthly mileage/expense reports. Prepare customer profile forms for Credit Department including classification of customer.
- Assist Operation Managers, Dispatchers and Technical Services as required for customer service, project status reports, and resolution of problems.
- Prepare projected business outlook for assigned territories.
- Perform quality control tests to ensure product standards are in compliance with specifications as needed.
- Follow all appropriate safety regulations at job sites.
- Coordinate and complete special projects as required.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Possess a level of determination to successfully complete tasks, projects and career responsibilities.
- Take the initiative to start new tasks or projects or operate out of their area of influence.
- Promote and maintain a Clean Work Environment.
- Suggest and implement new ways to make our business better.
- Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a high school education (college a plus) and product knowledge desired.
- Must have effective communication skills with the ability to interact with customers, vendors, sales reps, etc.
- Must have knowledge of concrete, sand and gravel, block products and light equipment.
- Must have appropriate and satisfactory transportation.
- Professional dress and grooming as stated in company handbook.
- Must be state certified for testing of materials within one year of holding position.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to operate buttons, levers, and other controls located on various equipment.
- Must be able transport oneself in and around assigned territories.
Skills Required
- High school education; college education is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers, vendors, and sales representatives.
- Knowledge of concrete, sand and gravel, block products, and light equipment.
- Product knowledge.
- Appropriate and satisfactory transportation.
