Container Security Without the Wait
The Role

Location: Boston (Hybrid)
Reports to: Sr. Director, Field Engineering & Customer Success

About Root

Root is on a mission to patch all of open source. We help companies secure containerized software without disrupting workflows or requiring extensive retooling. We embed into existing CI/CD pipelines and registries to automatically remediate vulnerabilities—not just detect them.

At the center of this is Patch Platoon: our agentic system that performs patch research and backport generation for open source software. Patch Platoon explores public advisories, source code, and changelogs to autonomously generate and test security patches, providing practical fixes even where upstream patches don’t yet exist.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Operations & Enablement Specialist to support our go-to-market (GTM) organization by bridging technical expertise with operational excellence. This is a hybrid role combining sales operations, sales engineering, and GTM enablement. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our sales team and customer-facing teams can scale effectively, operate with the right tools and processes, and deliver an exceptional experience to prospects and customers.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for optimizing sales processes, building scalable infrastructure, and supporting customer-facing teams in a fast-paced cybersecurity startup environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and optimize GTM systems (CRM, reporting, workflows, automation) to enable sales efficiency.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to design and implement scalable processes.
  • Collaborate with the Field Engineering team to translate technical capabilities into GTM value propositions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, analytics, and insights to track sales performance and pipeline health.
  • Train and enable the sales team on tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leadership by identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in Sales Operations, or GTM Engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with sales tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Outreach, etc.) and CRM management.
  • Strong experience with automation tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity buyer behavior and purchasing patterns -nice to have.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel/Sheets and BI/reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Series A/B cybersecurity startup.
  • Prior exposure to container security, CI/CD tooling, or open-source ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with SaaS buyers, buying motions, and common pricing/packaging practices; experience in adjacent verticals (e.g., cloud native or cloud) is a plus.
