We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales organization and drive growth, profitability, and exceptional customer service.

This position is responsible for overseeing the division's sales process, including sales strategy, market development, pricing, budgeting, recruiting, training, and performance management. The Sales Manager will lead a team of Sales Representatives, Customer Service Representatives, and Inside Sales Representatives while working closely with other departments to ensure a seamless, customer-focused operation.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader who builds strong relationships, develops people, understands sales and market dynamics, and is comfortable making decisions that support both customer needs and company goals.

What You'll Do

Lead & Develop the Sales Team

  • Recruit, train, develop, and manage sales and customer service team members.
  • Build strong working relationships with members of the sales team and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  • Assess team members' skills and identify opportunities for development and skill building.
  • Establish annual and quarterly performance goals and budgets with individual team members.
  • Hold the sales team accountable for customer service, sales performance, market development, profitability, and other key performance measures.
  • Lead monthly sales meetings to communicate priorities, educate the team, promote key initiatives, and drive achievement of business goals.
  • Travel with each sales team member at least once annually to better understand their territory, evaluate opportunities, and develop market strategies.

Drive Sales & Market Development

  • Analyze sales activity and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor customer expectations and determine appropriate sales priorities and strategies.
  • Assist customers in identifying product needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Evaluate the market potential of new and existing products and markets.
  • Establish sales territories, sales goals, and sales budgets.
  • Analyze sales statistics and provide input regarding inventory requirements and customer preferences.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that support division growth and profitability.

Manage Pricing, Budgets & Profitability

  • Establish geographical pricing structures and monitor pricing effectiveness.
  • Review and approve customer contract files.
  • Prepare and coordinate sales budgets.
  • Approve and manage budget expenditures with a focus on profitability.
  • Monitor sales performance and make adjustments as needed to achieve business objectives.

Deliver Exceptional Customer Service

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Resolve customer complaints and sales/service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure the sales organization consistently delivers a high level of customer service.
  • Advise dealers and suppliers regarding company policies and operating procedures.

Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Participate in division staff management meetings.
  • Work closely with warehouse, transportation, purchasing, credit, and office teams to resolve issues and maintain an efficient, customer-focused sales process.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings.
  • Coordinate and participate in company trade shows.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably in a related industry.
  • Previous experience leading, managing, or developing a sales team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete projects within established deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze business information, identify opportunities, and make sound decisions.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to balance customer needs with company policies and objectives.
