Experienced Automotive Sales Manager

Vallejo Hyundai – Vallejo, CA
Full-Time

Vallejo Hyundai is looking for an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to join our leadership team.

We are looking for a busy, hands-on manager who stays actively involved in the business throughout the day. This is not a position for someone who wants to sit behind the desk and wait for deals to come to them.

Strong CRM management is a must.

Responsibilities
  • Desk new and used vehicle deals
  • Structure deals to maximize front-end and back-end profitability
  • Monitor and manage internet leads throughout the day
  • Ensure every lead is being worked properly inside the CRM
  • Hold salespeople accountable for CRM activity, follow-up, tasks, calls, texts, emails, and appointments
  • Monitor lead response times and customer engagement
  • Review unsold showroom traffic and internet opportunities daily
  • Work missed appointments, no-shows, unsold customers, and aged leads
  • Help convert opportunities into appointments and sales
  • Coach, train, and motivate the sales team
  • Manage daily sales activity, appointments, follow-up, and closing performance
  • Work closely with F&I to improve overall deal profitability
  • Appraise trades and assist with used vehicle inventory decisions
  • Monitor inventory aging, pricing, merchandising, and turn
  • Assist salespeople with negotiations and closing customers
  • Monitor departmental goals, gross profit, PVR, volume, closing ratios, and other KPIs
  • Maintain compliance with dealership and manufacturer policies
  • Create a competitive, accountable, high-energy sales environment
CRM Expectations

The successful candidate must be highly engaged with the CRM throughout the entire day.

You should be comfortable:

  • Managing the CRM as a daily operating tool, not just a reporting system
  • Reviewing every active opportunity
  • Monitoring lead response and follow-up
  • Tracking appointments set, shown, and sold
  • Reviewing salesperson activity
  • Reassigning and redistributing opportunities when necessary
  • Making manager calls and helping close customers
  • Identifying opportunities that salespeople may have missed
  • Maintaining strong follow-up processes on unsold customers

If you are not comfortable being heavily involved in the CRM every day, this position will not be the right fit.

Qualifications
  • Previous automotive dealership sales management experience required
  • Strong CRM experience required
  • Strong understanding of internet lead management
  • Strong desking and deal-structuring skills
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a sales team
  • Strong understanding of new and used vehicle operations
  • Experience with trade appraisals and inventory management
  • Strong closing and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable working with CRM, DMS, and dealership technology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay productive in a busy dealership environment
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
What We're Looking For

We want a manager who is busy, competitive, accountable, and constantly engaged with the business.

The right person will be working the desk, watching the CRM, helping close deals, coaching salespeople, following up with customers, monitoring appointments, and looking for the next opportunity throughout the entire day.

We are looking for someone who understands that every lead, phone call, showroom visit, missed appointment, and unsold customer is an opportunity.

Experienced automotive sales managers who are strong with CRM and dealership sales processes are encouraged to apply.
