The Sales Team provides an “out of this world” client experience and closes qualified leads to generate revenue for the company.
Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for all agent-related operations and day-to-day activities including but not limited to: cascading company wide communications, coaching, mentoring, supervising, recruiting, hiring, and terminations. The individual must have a strong, people-focused coaching mindset, with the ability to teach intuitively and a passion around helping others succeed. Ultimately, a Smart City Sales Manager’s decisions and actions are grounded in upholding the highest level of customer experience to all of our clients. This position loves to be on the ground level, supporting their agents, and engaging with our customers because they know that is the fuel that powers growth on a sales team!
Essential Functions:
- Operations:
- Ownership over revenue, growth, profitability, and other sales-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Sales Team in the assigned market.
- Ownership over KPIs used to evaluate team success including; close rate, leases, revenue, and leads.
- Responsible for an exceptional and consistent client and agent experience throughout the assigned market, upholding 5-star review rating objective (Google, Yelp, Glassdoor, etc).
- Identify improvement opportunities within the Sales Team to drive increased revenue and improved closing rate.
- Management and oversight of COGS & Gross Margin P&L.
- People Management & Training:
- Responsible for all recruiting, training, developing and personnel related decisions within the assigned market in partnership with the General Manager, company leadership and the PMO team.
- Support future Smart City Locators as a point of contact from offer letter to start date.
- Develop and maintain training materials, resources, and presentations in collaboration with the company leadership and the PMO team.
- Ownership over Agent Goal Setting Process, and conduct regular performance reviews, coach, motivate, and build trust with team members.
- Works directly with company leadership to create fair market compensation plans and incentive adjustments as the market demands shift.
- Contribute to the Performance Management Process through communication and enforcement of 90-day graduation expectations, and agent minimum expectations.
- Partner with leadership to create, refine, implement and enforce the execution of Sales standard operating procedures.
- Handle client escalations with ease and make people first decisions on the spot.
- Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Strategy to negotiate and secure contracts with properties and property management companies in order to obtain a profitable average revenue per lease in the assigned market.
- Partner with the Marketing team to support lead generation for agents: Responsible for monitoring qualified lead flow in CRM round robin and motivating agents to join rotation during peak lead times, coordinating culture content for promotion on social media and the website, and executing team and local events that grow brand recognition.
- Be the market and Sales Strategy expert.
- Be agile and adjust execution strategies based on current business needs, assist with process review and improvement.
- Create periodical reports of department, team, functional and/or market insights.
- Plan and participate in company promoted events, promote internally and externally as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborative sessions, generate new ideas and execute.
- Assist with efforts in other markets, as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead the team of Sales Agents in the assigned market

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field is preferred
- 1+ years of sales experience is required
- Track record of success in current and/or previous roles
- Experience in a client-facing sales, customer service, hospitality, or retail position is preferred
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc)
- Experience with Excel or Google Sheets is preferred
- Experience using a CRM platform is preferred
- Understanding of Mac OSX and iPhone iOS for business
- Effective leadership and coaching skills

Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid in-office role.
- Travel to and touring properties around the city is required.
- Travel to other markets may periodically be required.
- Assures that safety regulations are followed at all times.
- Adherence to compliance measures implemented by governing bodies such as but not limited to OSHA & the CDC. Follows policies and procedures including infection control, universal precautions, and exposure control plans when performing daily tasks.
- Reports hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching.
Expected Hours of Work:
- Typical business hours: 8:30am - 6pm Monday - Friday, availability for escalations is periodically required outside of normal business hours.
Travel:
- Up to 30% of the time, on a seasonal basis to meet market demands.
- Travel may extend up to three days on an occasional basis.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary for this role is $72,100
