About Silvaseed (a Mast Reforestation Company)

Operating out of Roy, Washington, Silvaseed is one of the most historic and trusted forestry nurseries in the Western United States. We specialize in producing millions of high-quality conifer seedlings and operating the largest native seed bank in the West. For generations, we have been the backbone of commercial timber operations, large-scale land management, and vital reforestation efforts.

As a proud part of the Mast Reforestation portfolio, the only vertically integrated forest restoration company in the industry, we combine our heritage nursery expertise with innovative, scalable solutions for climate impact and ecological recovery.

If you are a proactive sales leader who deeply respects the biological rhythms of the nursery business and wants to drive commercial growth that actually puts trees in the ground, we’d encourage you to apply!

The Charter:

As Silvaseed steps into its next phase of growth, we are looking for a proactive, relationship-driven Sales Manager to serve as the commercial engine of our business. The ideal incumbent is an industry-savvy professional who understands the unique operational rhythms of the commercial nurseries industry.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for originating and closing seed and seedling contracts with major timber companies and land managers. Crucially, you will work in lockstep with our internal Growing and operations teams to ensure what we sell perfectly aligns with our biological sowing seasons and greenhouse capacity.

What You Will Do:

    • Proactive pipeline generation: Prospect, negotiate, and secure large-scale seedling and seed contracts (targeting 5M+ seedlings per year).

    • Industry networking: Represent Silvaseed at major industry conferences, trade shows, and field tours to expand our market footprint.

    • Operational alignment: Partner with the GM and the Growing team. You must understand the seasonality of conifer sowing (e.g., recognizing that Q4/early Q1 orders are critical to hit spring sowing windows) and ensure we never over-promise beyond our capacity.

    • Relationship management: Build deep, trusting relationships with key decision-makers at major timber and forestry companies, and serve as their primary point of contact.

    • Market intelligence: Keep a pulse on industry demand, competitor movements, and market shifts to inform Silvaseed’s growing schedule and seed bank strategy.

    • Originate marketing content: You’ll provide content ideas, themes, topics, pictures, for social media managers to post on our handles.

Who You Are:

    • Sales & nursery experience: 5+ years of proactive B2B sales experience, ideally within government or commercial nurseries, forestry, timber, agriculture, non-profit conservations, christmas tree, etc.

    • Operational respect: You understand that in the nursery business, sales cannot exist in a vacuum. You are highly collaborative and respect the biological and operational constraints of the growing team.

    • Self-starter: You do not wait for the phone to ring. You are comfortable traveling to meet clients on their turf, walking the land, looking at roots, and attending industry events.

    • Industry knowledge: A solid foundational understanding of conifer seedlings, seed extraction, or general horticulture/agriculture (so you aren't starting from scratch on product knowledge).

    • Tech-competent: Ability to manage your pipeline in a CRM and coordinate cleanly with our accounting and operations teams.

    • Effective communication: In addition to the written and verbal communication, we expect you to be able to work as a team and ensure the stakeholders are being included and informed before a decision is made.

Success in Year 1:

By the end of 2026, you will have built a highly predictable sales pipeline for the next sowing season, established a smooth communication loop with the Growing & Operation teams to prevent capacity issues, and successfully elevated Silvaseed's presence at key regional conferences.

What We Do

Mast Reforestation is a climate tech company with a mission to make reforestation scalable. As bigger, hotter, and more frequent fires increasingly destroy forested land each year, Mast facilitates faster, more resilient forest regeneration. Mast provides vertically integrated reforestation services to get forest restoration projects up and running in weeks, not years. Services include seed collection, seedling cultivation, site preparation, seedling hand planting, aerial drone-based seeding, and ongoing site monitoring. To fund its projects and open new revenue streams for landowners, Mast sells carbon removal credits that allow companies seeking positive climate action to invest in reforestation projects for 200 years or more. Mast’s investors include Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six, Social Capital, DBL Partners, Marc Benioff’s TIME Ventures, Elemental Excelerator, and more. To learn more, visit MastReforest.com
