Your role

Royal IHC Offshore Energy is experiencing strong growth, driven by increasing demand for offshore wind, cable laying and subsea solutions. With milestones such as the recent keel laying of two cable-laying vessels, we are building the next generation of high-tech offshore vessels and equipment. As Sales Manager Offshore Energy, you will be at the forefront of this growth, identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across the offshore energy market while helping customers turn complex challenges into innovative offshore solutions.


You understand the dynamics of complex offshore projects and translate customer challenges into differentiated Royal IHC solutions. By building trusted relationships, you help customers make informed investment decisions and create long-term value. Working closely with Design & Estimation, Engineering, Business Development and Project Delivery teams, you will lead sales opportunities from initial market engagement through tendering and contract award.


You will report to the Director Custom Vessels.


What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the Offshore Energy market, aligned with Royal IHC's growth ambitions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within offshore wind, cable-laying, subsea and emerging offshore markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vessel owners, offshore contractors, developers and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to customers throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Lead complex sales processes, including opportunity qualification, bid strategies, tender management, negotiations and contract closing.
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activities and industry trends, translating insights into commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with Design & Estimation and Engineering teams to develop compelling technical and commercial proposals.
  • Represent Royal IHC at customer meetings, industry conferences, exhibitions and market events worldwide.
  • Contribute to the further growth of Royal IHC's Offshore Energy business and long-term commercial strategy.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or an equivalent level of professional and intellectual capability.
  • Proven experience in a senior commercial, sales or business development role within the offshore, maritime, shipbuilding or capital equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the offshore energy market, including offshore wind, cable laying, subsea or related sectors.
  • An established network within the offshore energy and maritime industry.
  • Demonstrated success in securing complex projects and negotiating high-value contracts.
  • The ability to build relationships at operational, management and executive levels.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commercial mindset combined with strategic thinking and a results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Dutch is considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.

Royal IHC Offers You

  • A gross monthly salary in the Medior range (€6,824 - €8,565) or Senior range (€8,565 - €9,862), plus 8% holiday allowance.
