Position Summary
The Area Leisure Sales Manager is responsible for driving luxury leisure business for two distinctive boutique resorts, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa and Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. This role focuses on cultivating relationships with top-producing travel advisors, luxury consortia, and bespoke wholesalers and tour operators, to elevate brand visibility and revenue performance across both properties. With an in-depth understanding of the luxury travel market, the Area Leisure Sales Manager will position each resort’s unique character and guest experience to the leisure market, ensuring both properties maintain strong presence and appeal in key market segments.
Based in the USA, the top candidate will have at least four years sales experience in a Forbes 5-Star environment, national or international sales efforts, and knowledgeable of internal property measurement systems like Opera. The Area Leisure Sales Manager will join a fast-paced environment representing Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa’s ultra-luxury resort, and Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman’s boutique resort. Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture long-term partnerships with luxury travel advisors, consortia, and high-end tour operators.
- Represent both resorts at luxury travel events, trade shows, and in-market sales missions.
- Successfully achieve or exceed quarterly individual pace and production goals based on assigned markets.
- Consistently provide a high-level of exposure to the resorts in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, written communication and tradeshows.
- Solicit negotiate and book new business through various efforts, including prospecting, site tours, sales blitzes, prompt follow up on leads and referrals, use of systems analysis, and networking in order to maximize room revenue to meet and or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals.
- Develop and continually enhance relationships with preferred accounts, luxury consortia, and tour operators to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
- Successfully and consistently achieve minimum weekly sales activity requirements.
- Conduct sales presentations to travel advisors, luxury agencies, preferred wholesalers and tour operators verbally while using the latest technology and marketing materials.
- Coordinate and host FAM trips and site inspections to showcase both resorts.
- Lead follow up and lead generation for wholesale, consortia, and travel agency needs.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and promotions to drive quality business while maintaining brand integrity and profitability.
- Attend tradeshows as needed and required.
- Travel as needed and required to complete personal sales calls, and presentations to clients within your discipline/region.
- Attend departmental meetings, events, and activities, including evenings, and weekends.
- Travel required both within the US and internationally.
Requirements
- Being engaging and relationship driven in your day-to-day encounters with clients.
- Act as a brand ambassador for both resorts, ensuring that each property’s identity and story are clearly communicated to partners and clients.
- Collaborate with on-property teams to ensure seamless delivery of the luxury promise to leisure guests from booking to post-stay.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities between the two resorts.
- Ability to multitask and time manage.
- Opera sales and system proficient preferred.
- GDS and GRS reservation systems knowledge.
- Proactive in approach and efforts.
- Strategic thinker with creative, proactive approach to business development.
- Passionate about boutique hospitality and personalized guest experiences.
- Passport and ability for international travel is required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field of studies preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in luxury leisure sales, ideally within luxury or boutique resort environments.
- Established relationships with luxury travel advisors and networks in North America and international markets.
- Proven ability to manage multiple properties, destinations, or markets simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Well-versed in the expectations and nuances of high-net-worth leisure travelers.
- Willingness to travel extensively within key feeder markets and occasionally to both properties.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests and vendors.
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting consistent level of professionalism.
- English required.
$43.25 - $49.03 per hour plus bonus 25%
