Lead a High-Performing Team Driving Innovation in Water Technology

As a Sales Manager, you will lead a team of Account Managers and play a pivotal role in shaping regional strategy, driving growth, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. This is a leadership position focused on empowering your team, building strong customer and distributor partnerships, and guiding innovative solutions to market.

This role will oversee Account Managers and customers in the Northeastern US, and will have regular and frequent travel within the territory.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and Develop Your Team
    • Coach, mentor, and empower Account Managers to achieve individual and team goals.
    • Identify knowledge gaps and implement training programs to strengthen team capabilities.
    • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture that aligns with Badger Meter’s values.
  • Drive Strategic Growth
    • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with national objectives.
    • Set sales targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions to ensure success.
    • Forecast revenue, manage budgets, and analyze variances to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Champion Innovation
    • Collaborate with internal teams to introduce cutting-edge water technology solutions to customers and distributors.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive offerings to maintain Badger Meter’s leadership position.
  • Build Strong Relationships
    • Engage with key customers and distributors to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Support Account Managers in high-level presentations and strategic negotiations.
  • Collaborate Across Teams
    • Work closely with Marketing, Solution Architects, and Channel Managers to ensure seamless support throughout the sales process.
    • Provide insights and feedback to influence product development and enhance customer experience.
  • Represent Badger Meter
    • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to showcase our leadership in water technology.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales leadership, preferably in the utility or water industry.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop strategies, and deliver results.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel as needed for customer engagement and team support.
