Security Journey is raising the standard for how developers learn, adopt, and apply secure coding practices.  As we expand our go-to-market team, we are hiring a Sales Engineer who will bring technical depth, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping customers understand how secure development training creates measurable impact across engineering organizations.About the RoleThe Sales Engineer is a critical partner to our Account Executives.  You will guide prospects and customers through the technical elements of the Security Journey platform, ensuring that value, feasibility, and alignment with engineering workflows are clear at every stage.  You will support discovery, shape technical validation, deliver tailored demonstrations, and help buyers understand how Security Journey fits into their secure development lifecycle. 
This role blends technical expertise, customer empathy, and commercial awareness.  Your work will influence deal momentum, help accounts evaluate our platform effectively, and raise the standard of how we communicate value to developers and security teams.  This is a remote (work from home) position for candidates based on the East Coast of the United States.  
What You Will DoYou will collaborate with Account Executives to advance deals through technical excellence, preparation, and clear communication.  Your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Support full sales cycle from discovery through technical validation and close.
  • Lead high quality technical discovery sessions to understand buyer environments, workflows, and requirements.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations tailored to developer, AppSec, and security leadership audiences.
  • Translate complex application security concepts into clear, accessible explanations.
  • Manage proof of concept and pilot processes, including environment configuration and success criteria.
  • Provide technical guidance on integrations, deployment, and platform architecture.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure accurate positioning and smooth handoffs.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of platform capabilities, roadmap, and secure development best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of demo assets, documentation, and evaluation frameworks.
What Makes You a Great FitYou will excel in this role if you combine strong engineering foundations with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, accessible terms.  You enjoy teaching, advising, and supporting developers and AppSec teams.  You prepare thoroughly, work well in partnership with AEs, and thrive in live technical conversations.  You are comfortable navigating detailed questions about vulnerabilities, code level examples, and secure coding patterns.
  • Proven hands-on coding experience in a professional setting.
  • Background as a developer, DevSecOps engineer, application security engineer, or similar role.
  • Ability to speak the language of engineering and hold credible conversations about vulnerability classes, threat models, secure coding patterns, and remediation approaches.
  • Experience working with developers, AppSec teams, and technical buyers.
  • Strong communicator who can translate technical depth into clear, value focused narratives.
  • Experience supporting SaaS sales motions in mid market and enterprise environments.
  • High preparation standards and ability to tailor demonstrations for specific use cases.
  • Curiosity, coachability, and low ego orientation.
