The Sales Director is responsible for managing all sales associates and the sales efforts of the Permian Basin sales department, while managing and growing their own portfolio of accounts. The Sales Director is the primary driver for market strategy, cultivating new business and growing wallet share within the current portfolio. This position requires a true competitor and someone with a proven track record of profitable growth and a sense of urgency. The Sales Director will work closely with customers and suppliers to become a valued partner in mutually beneficial business.
Job Duties:
- Overseeing and managing a team of sales representatives within the Permian Basin territory
- Manage a designated territory with existing and potential customers
- Contact current and prospective customers to solicit business orders
- Sourcing new sales opportunities through cold calling
- Develop market strategy
- Meeting revenue and margin goals as established by Chief Sales Officer
- Recommend products to customers, based upon customer’s needs and interests
- Maintain records, reports and notes on daily orders, phone conversations with customers
- Keep ahead of industry’s developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement
- Resolves customer challenges through investigation, developing solutions and making recommendations to management
- Build and maintain customer relationships; provide customer support with technical product information and preparing thorough and accurate quotes, order acknowledgements, samples, etc.
- Attend training and sales meetings as required to stay current with all company products
- Collaborate with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction
- Comply with all company rules, policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years outside sales experience in industrial distribution
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline is preferred
- Previous sales leadership experience in a similar position is highly preferred
- Sales within the industrial hose, pipe, fitting, gasket industry is highly preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
- Mechanically inclined – willing to work in industrial settings
- Strong organizational and follow up skills
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to travel as needed
