As a Vice President, you bring a proven track record of identifying and pursuing growth opportunities while mentoring and empowering your team to succeed. You balance high-level strategic vision with hands-on leadership, leveraging your expertise and connections to uncover new opportunities, strengthen relationships, and drive revenue growth for Dotdash Meredith’s D/Cipher product.

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About the position’s contributions: 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the D/Cipher sales team, aligning with Dotdash Meredith’s broader business goals and ensuring the team remains focused on high-impact opportunities.

  • Opportunity Identification & Execution: Proactively identify and prioritize high-value opportunities for D/Cipher, taking the lead where necessary to drive new initiatives and business pursuits. Collaborate with the sales team to evaluate and execute strategic growth plans.

  • Leverage Connections with Media Buyers: Utilize your established network of media buyers, agencies, and trading desk professionals to unlock opportunities for D/Cipher. Position Dotdash Meredith as the go-to partner for data-driven audience insights and advanced trading solutions.

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with key brands, agencies, and Holdcos, ensuring D/Cipher remains integral to their media planning and buying strategies.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and inspire the sales team, providing guidance, mentorship, and resources to ensure their success. Act as a go-to expert for navigating complex sales cycles and high-level negotiations.

  • Sales Enablement: Equip the team with tools, insights, and strategies to craft compelling pitches and close deals effectively. Ensure sellers are well-prepared to articulate the value of D/Cipher to clients.

  • Market Expertise: Stay ahead of industry trends, including advancements in programmatic, CTV, and data ecosystems, and translate these insights into actionable strategies for the team.

  • Client Advocacy: Act as a client advocate within the organization, ensuring feedback is communicated to product and technical teams to improve offerings and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Revenue Growth: Take ownership of revenue targets, driving results through direct action, team collaboration, and strategic relationship-building.

  • Event Leadership: Represent Dotdash Meredith at key industry events, serving as an ambassador for the D/Cipher product and cultivating new relationships and opportunities.

Role Requirements:

What you need to be successful:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, with a significant portion spent in a leadership role within digital media, data-driven solutions, or programmatic ecosystems.

  • Extensive connections with media buyers, agencies, and trading desk professionals who rely on data and trading solutions to optimize their campaigns.

  • Proven track record of managing and growing key brand and agency relationships at a senior level, delivering measurable revenue growth.

  • Expertise in first-party data, audience intelligence, and programmatic ecosystems, with the ability to translate complex offerings into compelling solutions for clients.

  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with experience leading high-performing sales teams and inspiring them to exceed goals.

  • A proactive, strategic mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop actionable plans, and execute against them.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, capable of engaging with C-suite and senior decision-makers.

  • A robust network of contacts across brands and agencies, particularly in the New York market.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
