Overview

Empire & Co. is seeking a Sales & Business Development Representative to join our growing Walls team. This hybrid position is based out of our Hollywood, Florida office and will focus on developing new business opportunities, strengthening client partnerships, and driving growth within the architectural walls and interior construction market.

The primary function of this position is to manage client expectations, provide innovative architectural walls solutions, and deliver knowledge-based recommendations that support client objectives. This position will be responsible for increasing market share and profitability by cultivating client trust through daily account management, strategic business development efforts, and project oversight.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing relationships with architects, designers, contractors, developers, and end users while identifying opportunities for architectural walls and interior construction solutions throughout the Florida market.

Key ResponsibilitiesWalls Sales
  • Update clients on new architectural walls products, solutions, and industry trends.
  • Exercise value engineering when developing walls solutions and recommendations.
  • Work with the Marketing Department to provide updated materials, product information, and project case studies.
  • Seek out opportunities for ancillary products and additional services.
  • Provide prompt and courteous responses to client inquiries, needs, and requests.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with architects, designers, contractors, developers, and end users.
  • Share the Empire & Co. story and promote the depth and breadth of resources available through our Walls division.
  • Promote the unique capabilities, knowledge, and expertise of Empire & Co.'s Walls team.
  • Remain cognizant of and prepared for anticipated client needs.
  • Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape for proper product positioning.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure additional discounting opportunities and improve project profitability.
  • Continually build and strengthen strategic relationships throughout the architectural and construction community.
  • Develop forecasts and strategic account plans to drive business growth.
  • Attend industry networking events, trade shows, and client meetings to generate new business opportunities.
Walls Sales Process
  • Act as the "quarterback" throughout the sales process by facilitating and managing all project-related activities.
  • Coordinate necessary actions with Walls Account Coordinators, Project Managers, Operations, and Installation teams.
  • Assist in reviewing project specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop accurate project solutions and pricing.
  • Monitor project status reports, open orders, unbilled orders, and aging reports.
  • Ensure timely communication between clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support projects from opportunity identification through installation and project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities, and forecasts.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales, business development, account management, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience within architectural walls, commercial interiors, construction, contract furniture, or a related industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing client relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, persistent, and skilled negotiator.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and client service skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to architects, designers, contractors, and end users.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Florida as needed to support clients and project opportunities.
