Sales and Proposal Mechanical Engineer
Summary
The SMS group is on the lookout for a Sales and Proposal Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team! You will be responsible for providing design and drafting support for continuous casting sales projects in the NAFTA market, provide aftermarket support in the form of service and revamp proposals, and to represent the company’s interests in general.

What you’ll do
- In conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department and Automation Department, determine which equipment references will be used for proposal creation
- Create layout drawings and engineering investigations in support of sales projects
- Management of layout work for proposal preparation
- Select and adapt appropriate reference equipment to use as a basis for new efforts
- Coordination of layout efforts amongst different design departments, when necessary
- Customer support / liaison of the company’s domestic references
What you’ll need
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience in mechanical design and drafting required
- Minimum 5 years experience working with industrial steelmaking equipment and facilities. Specific experience in continuous casting design preferred.
- Candidates must be self-motivated and display creativity, strong problem-solving skills, good communication skills and work well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD and Creo.

Skills Required
