About the Role
Macmillan Education is looking for a driven and customer-focused Sales & Marketing Representative to join our Sales & Marketing team in Namibia. This permanent position is based in Windhoek and requires national travel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing sales within a designated territory by securing new adoptions, maintaining existing business, and delivering excellent customer service through a needs-based selling approach.
Key Responsibilities
Promote our print and digital product range to targeted schools, TVET colleges, booksellers, private and national schools, education officials and librarians.
Achieve or exceed annual turnover and product sales targets.
Maintain existing adoptions and identify new business opportunities within the territory.
Research and identify key decision-makers and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Apply a needs-based sales methodology to close sales effectively.
Represent the company at exhibitions and industry events; ensure accurate follow-up and CRM updates within required timelines.
Monitor and report on competitor activity and market developments.
Provide timely market intelligence and feedback to support publishing and marketing strategies.
Ensure all customer queries and complaints are resolved within 24 hours.
Submit weekly reports, manage annual call plans, maintain travel logs and ensure accurate CRM administration.
Requirements
Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar sales role.
Experience in education, publishing, or related sectors will be advantageous.
Experience engaging with teachers, principals, education officials or other key decision-makers.
Education:
Grade 12 (required).
Degree or Diploma in Commerce or Education (preferred).
Competencies:
Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Good command of English (written and verbal); knowledge of a local Namibian language will be an advantage.
Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems.
Ability to work independently and within a matrix structure.
Valid driver’s license (Code 8) and willingness to travel nationally.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
