The Business Development Director China will be responsible for leading the implementation and execution of Stratpharma’s commercial strategy across Mainland China. This is a senior leadership role combining sales growth, distributor/channel management, team leadership, and selected financial responsibilities, with a strong focus on hospital and clinic markets.

The role holder will act as the senior commercial representative for Stratpharma in China, working closely with global management and leading the local business development and sales organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Strategy

· Execute Stratpharma’s China sales and business development strategy aligned with global objectives.

· Drive sustainable revenue growth across public/government, military, and private hospitals and clinics.

· Provide market intelligence, forecasts, and strategic input to global leadership.

Sales & Channel Management

· Lead national sales activities for Stratpharma products; Strataderm, Stratamed, Stratacel, Stratamark, StrataGRT and StrataMGT

· Build, manage, and optimise sales channels and distributor/sub distributor relationships across China.

· Oversee negotiations, performance management, and development of distributors and commercial partners.

· Ensure strong coverage and penetration of target hospitals and departments.

Hospital & Clinical Engagement

· Develop and leverage deep relationships within key hospital departments relevant to Stratpharma’s product portfolio.

· Drive adoption through clinician engagement, product education, and value-based selling.

· Navigate public tendering, procurement processes, and hospital purchasing structures.

Team Leadership & Organisation Development

· Build, lead, and mentor the China BD and sales team.

· Set clear targets, KPIs, and performance expectations.

· Foster a performance-driven, compliant, and ethical sales culture.

· The local team does not require English, but the Director must be able to interface fluently with global stakeholders in English.

Financial & Business Management

· Hold responsibility for sales planning, budgeting, and forecasting for China.

· Monitor commercial performance and profitability.

· Ensure accurate reporting and alignment with global financial expectations.

Stakeholder & Global Communication

· Direct report to Stratpharma Switzerland CEO or designee

· Act as the main China liaison with global management, requiring regular communication in English.

· Provide clear, structured updates on performance, opportunities, and risks.


Requirements

Essential Experience

· Senior-level experience in medical device sales in China.

· Proven track record selling into public/government, military, and private hospitals.

· Demonstrated experience managing and leading sales teams at national or regional level.

· Strong experience managing sales channels and distributors/sub distributors within the Chinese healthcare market.

· Deep understanding of hospital procurement, tenders, and reimbursement dynamics.

· Established networks and channel resources within relevant hospital departments.

Product & Sector Background

· Background in medical devices, ideally within hospital-based therapeutic areas relevant to Stratpharma’s portfolio.

· Experience calling into, and selling through, specific hospital departments rather than starting from undeveloped channels.

Language & Communication

· High level of English proficiency (spoken and written) is essential for communication with global management.

· Native or fluent Mandarin Chinese required.
