Safety Specialist - General Compliance

The Role
The Safety Specialist – General Compliance supports DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety programs. This role focuses on fleet compliance, driver safety, incident response, training, and regulatory reporting while serving as a key safety resource across the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance (DQ files, HOS, DVIRs, MVRs, inspections)
- Manage ELD and in-vehicle camera systems
- Lead vehicle incident reporting, investigations, and corrective training
- Support DOT & Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing programs
- Conduct and support new driver and ongoing safety training
- Support fleet programs, claims management, OSHA compliance, and safety audits
Your Schedule:
- Position is on-site
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- Some travel involved, 10%
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- DOT/FMCSA and OSHA compliance experience with CMV fleets
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and be on-call as needed
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Class A CDL (or ability to obtain within 24 months)
- First Aid/CPR/AED (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
