Amentum is seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfil the role of an ES&H Manager. This position invovles supervison and managment of a group of ES&H professionals that perform a safety analysis of R&D projects for the governement at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. The candidate filling this role will;
1)Under the supervision of the R&D Support Manager, collaborates with colleagues in Engineering, Operations and Quality to deliver R&D projects within schedule and budget.
2)Tracks and reports status against key performance indicators and contractual metrics on a routine basis.
3)Demonstrates command of work scope, schedule goals, key milestones, and approach to the work embodied in the schedule.
4)Ensures that a firm scope-based schedule baseline is established and properly resourced.
5)Demonstrates knowledge of the schedule tools, procedures, and work process.
6)Develops weekly assignments/schedules for direct reports to ensure project milestones are met.
7)Reviews, reports on and manages key performance measures defined within the contract. Implements corrective measures when measures are outside service levels or bandwidths.
8)Establishes annual staffing plans and operating budgets in cooperation with customer & R&D Support Manager.
9)Creates and conducts formal presentations to clients and management.
10)Responsible for leading the Hazard Analysis and completing the Hazard Analyses Report for in-house research activities.
11)Conducts periodic walk-throughs of active R&D projects and identifies potential areas of safety concern and facilitate resolution of any deficiencies identified..
12)Develops and provides general laboratory and hazard-specific classroom and field training to researchers and research technicians.
13)Needs to have a strong working knowledge of Environemental, Safety and Health.
14)Identifies training needs and develops individual training plans for direct reports.
15)Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Position may require periodic travel. ~10%
Minimum Requirements:
US Citizen
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Project Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent and 8-10 years relative experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are preferred .
Certified Industrial Hygienist highly preferred.
Supervisory experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
