The Safety Coordinator is one of the most important roles in our organization. This position assists in the development, coordination, and execution of Company-wide and project-specific safety programs and works to ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, vendors, and the public. The Safety Coordinator enforces the Company’s safety standards on jobsites as well as local and federal safety laws and regulations. The incumbent conducts training for employees to develop safe work plans for all project phases and tasks. This position requires strong leadership skills and is the embodiment of safety as one of the Company’s Core Values.

Safety Responsibilities:

· Prioritizes safety as the utmost importance and promotes a culture throughout the field that makes safety the primary focus for all employees at all times.

· Fosters and enforces a behavior-based culture of safety while ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.

· Fully understands and shares a passion for the Company’s core values, vision, mission, and objectives and embodies our Core Values. Safety Coordinator Responsibilities and Duties

· Assists in creating, developing, and implementing safety incentive programs which reward targeted behaviors and results.

· Ensures safety and health training meets the needs of internal and external requirements (i.e., clients and regulating entities) so our workforce has the proper training to safely perform tasks and jobs.

· Manages hazard assessment activities by (1) conducting and/or supervising safety inspections, and (2) analyzing inspection and incident data to identify opportunities to develop preventative and corrective measures.

· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.

· Conducts incident investigations, performs root cause analyses, assists in analyzing and reviewing trends, and assists in the development and implementation of corrective actions and programs across the Company based on analysis results.

· Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.

· Presents and executes worksite-specific plans.

· Consults building codes, governmental regulations, and other emergency response agencies.

· Assists in developing site-specific emergency evacuation plans and other emergency response plans (ERPs).

· Inspects safety equipment and recommends replacements.

· Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees, subcontractors, and vendors.

· Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.

· Coaches safety improvement on site and sets a personal example for safety.

· Gathers insight into risks and their reasons.

· Gives balanced feedback to observed workers.

· Identifies barriers and obstacles to safe behavior.

· Promotes a strong behavior-based safety culture on job sites.

· Participates in the Company’s safety committee.

· Provides best-in-class customer service to internal and external clients by addressing issues, questions, or concerns in a timely and proficient manner.

· Endeavors to stay up to date with emerging technologies and tends in the construction and safety fields.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

Data Center Safety Coordinator – must be open to working on site and being stationed at the job site in Lebanon, Indiana for the lifecycle of the project build timeline, 24 months.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field is strongly preferred but not required. Sufficient experience may be substituted for educational background.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 - 2 years of construction safety experience. Experience overseeing large commercial and/or industrial projects. Strong experience with federal, state, regional, and local laws and regulations related to the construction industry.

COMPUTER & TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams). Proficient with PC, cell phone, and Company communication tools (e.g., e-mail, internet, etc.). Proficient with training management software and safety compliance systems (e.g., Hammertech). Smartsheet experience is a plus but not required (training will be provided).

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES: Must be willing and able to obtain OSHA 30 and First Aid Certified within the first month. Must be willing to study and work towards obtaining the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to receive instruction and supervision.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required. Able to perform work at elevations in excess of 30 feet. Able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. Exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions. Travel required to multiple project locations. Must be able to be insured on Company’s insurance policy as a driver for the Company. Must wear required PPE at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, harness, etc.).

Skills Required
