Position Description
The role of the Recreation Aide/Safety Coordinator is to contribute to a safe, supportive, and caring school community especially through the supervision of students during lunch and recess. Additionally, this role supports serving meals, parent communications, valet (student pick-up) and traffic supervision during After School hours.
Hours
9:00-5:30pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during their lunch and recess and ensure that they are exhibiting behaviors consistent with Equitas values
- Supervise students at other points throughout the school day as needed, such as transitions and restrooms
- Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic achievement
- Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining school culture
- Assist teachers during the school day with oversight and supervision of students
- Support in the school office with administrative tasks.
- Support the beautification of the campus.
- Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff, families, and other stakeholders
- Maintain consistent open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders
- Supervise valet (student drop off/pick-up)
- Maintain a safe and structured parking and valet system
- Assist families and guests with alternative parking solutions
- Assist School Operations Manager and after school with special projects
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal and School Operations Manager.

Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience working with students preferred
- Bilingual Spanish speaker required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or some college preferred
- CPR Certification and First Aid Certificate required within 60 days of hire
- Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test
Salary and benefits
Starting at $20/hour. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
