Maxar Space is seeking a Safety and Mission Assurance Manager to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. This role may also be performed remotely within the U.S. The Safety and Mission Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the contractual Mission Assurance Plan (MAP) is executed and implement on a given Spacecraft Program.
Responsibilities:
- Drive major quality issue closure to program schedule
- Plan and execute Product Assurance (PA) activities on complex spacecraft programs
- Effectively manage cross functional Product Assurance team (e.g., Parts, Materials, Safety and Reliability Engineering) to deliver program PA requirements
- Manage customer PA meetings and drive action item and NCR closure
- Provide risk assessments for PA deliverables
- Manage SCQE (Spacecraft Quality Engineering) activities for assigned programs
- Lead PA Improvement activities
- Define and monitor SMA (Safety and Mission Assurance) costs for assigned programs
- Monthly travel to Palo Alto location is expected, if the employee is not local
Skills:
- Project Management
- Customer Management and Communication Experience with Maxar Systems and MS tools
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- BS in an engineering or STEM discipline. An additional four years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- 15 years of experience

• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $129,000.00 - $215,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $129,000.00 - $215,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $142,000.00 - $236,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $149,000.00 - $247,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
