Responsibilities
- Facilitate the daily operations and coordination of the GADNet Safe Space in Freetown.
- Assist in the execution of organizational safeguarding policies, procedures, and established standards.
- Proactively identify potential safeguarding risks within programs and activities, implementing measures to address them.
- Coordinate and deliver safeguarding orientation sessions and awareness workshops for staff, volunteers, beneficiaries, and community members.
- Manage confidential referrals by guiding individuals through established support pathways.
- Ensure the accurate, secure, and confidential maintenance of all safeguarding and Safe Space documentation.
- Oversee and support mechanisms for receiving and managing complaints and feedback.
- Keep referral directories and profiles of service providers current and accessible.
- Monitor, document, and report on the progress and outcomes of safeguarding and Safe Space initiatives.
- Assist in locating districts and communities requiring Safe Space interventions.
- Facilitate the mapping and engagement of potential partners and service providers in regions outside Freetown.
- Contribute to the expansion and strengthening of referral networks and Safe Space services beyond the capital.
- Engage in coordination efforts related to safeguarding, protection, GBV, child protection, and Safe Space activities.
- Collaborate with government bodies, NGOs, health facilities, community groups, and other partners to strengthen stakeholder engagement.
- Document lessons learned and successful practices derived from the Freetown Safe Space operations.
- Execute additional safeguarding and Safe Space duties as directed by the supervisor.
