Responsibilities & Qualifications

The S&OP Planning Manager owns the development, alignment, and communication of a feasible, end-to-end supply plan for the Oswego Network. The Planning Manager converts commercial demand, operating capability, inventory strategy, and sourcing options into one integrated plan that supports customer service, asset effectiveness, working capital, and business priorities. The role will also manage tracking the business and the operational performance of supply chain activities and processes for the assigned scope.The position is both analytical and influential. It requires the ability to challenge assumptions, explain trade-offs, facilitate cross-functional decisions, and maintain planning rigor in a complex, capacity-constrained manufacturing network. This position reports to the NNA S&OP Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly S&OP, annual (next FY horizon) and strategic (next 5 FY horizon) planning cycle for the assigned network scope, from input readiness through scenario development, consensus, approval, publication, and follow-up.
  • Build and maintain a balanced demand, production, inventory, and external supply plan across the planning horizon.
  • Validate critical planning assumptions, including demand, starting inventory, target inventory, routings, product mix, throughput, recovery, utilization, planned downtime, and supply availability constraints.
  • Identify capacity, inventory, qualification, and service risks early; quantify the impact; develop scenarios; and recommend a clear course of action.
  • Facilitate network reviews and prepare decision-ready recommendations, trade-offs, risks, and actions for executive S&OP approval.
  • Coordinate inputs and outputs of S&OP process with multiple partners, including Commercial, Demand planning, Operations, and Near-term planning teams.
  • Maintain planning standards, governance, documentation, critical metric definitions, and data quality for the assigned scope.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, analytics, and cross-functional ways of working; reduce manual effort and move planning from reactive to predictive.
  • Drive key activities withing large scope projects to enhance S&OP process capabilities, including Quintiq MacroPlanner upgrade and NTP project integration with S&OP

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, manufacturing planning, S&OP, or metal-related planning in multinational manufacturing company, similar industry is preferred
  • High proficiency in data analysis, scenario modeling, root-cause analysis, and converting large or imperfect data sets into clear decisions.
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work, facilitate decisions, and deliver results through others.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize detailed data into actionable insights and to communicate across organizational levels.
  • High proficiency in Excel and analytical tools; working knowledge of planning optimization tools preferred
  • Ability to travel periodically to Novelis plants, for network reviews, or working sessions as business needs require.
