Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Senior engineer for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and other database technologies.
- Responsible for database backup and restore functions including scheduled tests of DR availability, including knowledge of MS SQL restoration and availability technologies such as Clustering, Replication and especially Always-On.
- Actively partcipate in CAB meeting,DORM Calls,escalation calls,Improvement sessions
- MS SQL production SQL Instance / database level performance tuning.
- Understands SQL parameter/configuraton files enhancemenet and deep tuning
- Participates in SQL code-reviews for the application teams to enforce SQL coding standards.
- Builds and reports on SQL environment performance and availability metrics and takes appropriate actions to implement best practices and optimize performance.
- Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects.
- Writes appropriate SQL scripts to extract data efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Install database software/features on servers as needed.
- Monitor databases for performance and issues using monitoring tools.
- Ensure all database servers are managed to Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
- Working closely with Vendors and external support to provide stable environment
- Architect and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and backup/restore strategies.
- Lead performance tuning, patch management, and complex incident resolution.
- Manage Oracle database lifecycle: provisioning, migration, upgrades.
- Manage SQL database lifecycle: EOL provisioning, migration, upgrades.
- Ensure high availability and replication readiness across DCs.
- Ensure DB is maintaining at high level of concistency
- Implement automation for routine tasks using Powershell/ T-SQL, PL/SQL scripting, Cron Jobs and SQL Jobs
- Ensure NCA and NDMO compliance, secure data handling, and auditing.
- Mentor L2 Oracle/SQL engineers and interface with solution architects.
Mandatory Skills Description:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role
- Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, SQL 2014, SQL2017, SQL2019, SSIS, SSRS
- Expertise in SQL optimization and schema tuning, capacity tuning and database deep troubleshooting
- Expertise in using combination of fine tuning tools : SQL Profiler, extended event, default trace, windows performance counter
- Have experience with Large database environment,
- Experience in hybrid cloud database setups.
- Knowledgeable with automation, reporting, automatic performance tuning,
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard database management practices and methodologies.
