The Role
Position, cut, bend and secure steel rebar, mesh, and cables in concrete forms per blueprints using hand tools, rod-benders, torches and saws. Perform material inventory, order supplies, rigging/flagging, cable stressing, and physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and prolonged standing while following safety rules.

- Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions

- Position safety or support equipment

- Bend steel rods with hand tools or rod-bending machines
- Some travel may be required
- Inventory materials as required

- Cleaning cables to prep stressing procedures
- Stressing cables with a use of a stressing jack
- Lifting over 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and reaching
- Standing/walking for a long period of time
- Climbing/descending ladders, working on heights
- Setting column cages, pier cages and wall reinforcement
- Flagging/Rigging rebar (trained personnel)
- Adhere to all FABco safety rules and policies
- Housekeeping

Skills Required

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions for rebar placement.
- Experience positioning and fastening steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms.
- Experience using rod-bending machines, pliers, acetylene torches, gas power saws, and bar cutters.
- Ability to cut and fit wire mesh or welded wire fabric.
- Training/ability in flagging and rigging rebar and stressing cables with a stressing jack.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, stand/walk for long periods, and work at heights/climb ladders.
- Adherence to company safety rules, housekeeping, and proper use of safety/support equipment.
