BAE Systems, a top ten prime contractor to the Department of Defense, is seeking an exceptional leader to manage and mentor a team of skilled engineers and scientists in the design, development, and testing of solid rocket motors for defense applications. As the Rocket Development Manager, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and technical excellence in our organization. You will lead a high-performing team of professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to ensure the successful design and development of new solid rocket motors that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
As the Rocket Development Manager, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and scientists in the design, development, and testing of solid rocket motors and associated propellants
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure successful project execution and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Interface with customers, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to drive project goals and objectives
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages technical excellence and strategic decision-making
- Bring a passion for this kind of work to the team every day and use that excitement to engage and challenge engineers and scientists to do their best work with that same level of enthusiasm.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically a bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and 8 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to influence others

- Rocket development experience
- Experience in managing people or programs
- Experience working with DoD customers
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
