As an early career Robotics Software Engineer you will:
- Work under the mentorship of experienced Roboticists to strengthen your software, engineering, and analytical skills
- Develop software for our autonomous outdoor robotics platform in C++ and Python using the Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2)
- Code-review, pair-program, and problem solve with teammates
- Perform data collection and analysis with our robots to identify the best solutions for the real-world challenges they face
- Evaluate and integrate new sensors and hardware
- Participate in daily stand-ups, weekly sprint planning, retrospectives, and product roadmap planning
- Build a great company: it’s up to you how involved you want to be. We are an open book and share the experience of building a company from customer discovery and demos to marketing and customer support, you can participate and learn all aspects of business.
As a candidate you already:
- Have a BS or MS in Robotics, CS, EE, CompE, ME, or a related field
- Write clean, tested code and are comfortable with Git-based collaborative workflows
- Have exposure to or experience with any of: control systems, computer vision, sensor fusion, motion planning, SLAM, and/or other robotics algorithms and libraries
- Have used the Robot Operating System (ROS 1 or ROS 2) and simulation tools
- Know C++, CMake, and related development tools
- Know Python or other high-level scripting languages
- Are comfortable working with Linux and can navigate your way around the command line
- Have experience working with AI software development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, etc)
- Desire to free humans from hard, manual labor

- Have participated in robotics competitions as part of a team or have other hands-on experience, including: coursework, research, internships, and personal projects
- Have mowed a lawn or two
