About the Role
We’re looking for a Robotics Research Scientist who blends frontier research curiosity with engineering discipline. You’ll work at the core of our research efforts, training state-of-the-art locomotion algorithms, integrating sensor arrays, processing large amounts of multi-modal data from our numerous robots. Your research is meant to make an impact in the real world.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly interdisciplinary environment, understands how to explain their domain knowledge to an intelligent but uninformed audience.
What You’ll Do
- Apply state-of-the-art research to real-life applications
- Invent solutions to novel challenges that arise from deploying robots outside a lab
- Design hardware requirements in conjunction with research problems
You Should Have
- Expertise in a domain related or transferable to robotics
- The willingness to get your hands dirty with the difficult work of deploying your research
- A curious mind and a passion for publishing good high impact research
Bonus Points For
- Experience or Education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with TorchScript, ONNX, or custom inference runtimes
- Contributions to PyTorch or open-source ML tooling
- Experience working on transformer models, diffusion models, or large-scale vision/NLP tasks
- Familiarity with the drawbacks and limitations of ROS/ROS2
- A history of making deep contributions across varied disciplines
Why Join Us
- Collaborate with a world-class research team on meaningful, high-impact projects
- Own and shape the core training code infrastructure used daily by the team
- Work on real models, real data, and real scale — not toy problems
- Help bridge the gap between research velocity and engineering quality
- Flexible work environment with a culture that values depth, clarity, and curiosity
