Stantec is looking for an Engineer in Training (EIT) to be a part of our growing Transportation team in our Nashville, TN office. The EIT will be responsible for daily tasks related to Roadway Engineering that include all phases of work from planning to analysis and design, as well as construction support. Responsibilities will include data collection, supervised design calculations, modeling, and plan production for various clients.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Performs data collection to be used as the basis of design
- Performs hydraulic analyses of drainage structures
- Performs roadway modeling to calculate earthwork
- Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
- Assists team in preparing plans, drawings, and reports for various clients
- Assist team with plan checking and quantity calculations
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience with CAD software such as MicroStation (preferred) or AutoCAD, GeoPak, InRoads, OpenRoads (preferred)
- Experience with hydraulic analyses
- Good communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft cloud-based products such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive appreciated
- Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers
- The candidate is expected to work hard to help the team meet deadlines and client expectations
- It is also important that the candidate have an eager desire to learn and take on responsibilities to shape their career
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineering certification (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred
- Minimum of 0-3 years of experience. Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
