Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Serving as a project engineer in the planning and execution of local agency and/or DOT roadway design projects.
- Assisting in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
- Conducting engineering analysis and design.
- Preparing and reviewing project documentation, reports, and specifications.
- Applying engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution.
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- May assign work to junior engineers or other staff.
- Depending on the experience level of the selected candidate, this role may be involved in other various responsibilities, such as project management.
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field
- 5+ years of relevant roadway/highway design engineering experience – open to candidates with more experience
- Experience working on SCDOT roadway design projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a remote work environment
