POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Plans, directs, and coordinates nursing care in terms of individual needs of the residents in accordance with physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures.
QualificationsMINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of Accredited High School or GED Program and graduate from an accredited professional school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.
License: Current Georgia License with annual renewal / Registered Nurse.
Experience: Preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, and walk and bend intermittently throughout the day, lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
- External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
- Position has a high expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
Skills Required
- Graduate of accredited high school or GED and graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing or higher
- Current Georgia Registered Nurse license with annual renewal
- Nursing experience
- Ability to move, sit, stand, walk, bend intermittently and lift/move up to 100 pounds
- Adequate sight and hearing or use of prosthetics to meet job requirements
- Use of mechanical and technical equipment as required by responsibilities
- Willingness to work with high expected exposure to blood borne pathogens
