San Luis Valley Health is looking for a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join the Surgery team. The RN is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the provision of safe quality patient care by daily monitoring of the activities of assigned staff and by taking corrective action as necessary. The RN is accountable for outcomes related to patient satisfaction, clinical performance and cost. The RN provides leadership in assuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations, and the mission and philosophy of San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center. The RN interfaces with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, to identify and resolve operational issues and/or needs.         

Guaranteed Interview for any licensed Registered Nurse- Thursdays 1:30pm-4:30pm

  

The successful candidate would possess the following qualification:                

  • Bachelor's of Science preferred, Associates Degree in Nursing required       
  • Current RN license with the State of Colorado Board of Nursing        
  • Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications required through the American Heart Association        
  • One year nursing experience preferred            

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:                

  • Responsible for assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted nursing and hospital standards of care relevant to surgery or operating room standards.        
  • Ability to assist with surgical procedures as required.        
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.        
  • Knowledgeable of the scope of care of technicians and ward clerks.

Skills Required
