- Administers care, treatment and medication to residents
- Monitors and records residents’ medical/vital signs;
- Trains and provides direction for appropriate staff in basic bedside nursing care
- Assists with transportation of residents as needed
- Administers emergency care to residents as needed
- Draws blood and collects lab specimens as ordered by physician
- Orders medications and supplies
- Communicates pertinent information to physicians and lead nurse/nurse supervisor
- Monitors residents' nutritional status and intake
- Administers tube feedings
- Implements immediate procedures to effectively deal with aggressive or agitated residents
- Prepares reports as required
- Assumes duties of charge nurse as required
- Provides supervisory duties and in-service training as required
Requirements
Requirements:
- A valid RN license to work in the state of Virginia.
- Knowledge of emergency transference procedures
- Knowledge of pharmacology as applied to preparing and distributing medications
- Ability to meet the special needs of elderly and disabled residents
- Ability to interact with residents and fellow staff members in a pleasant manner
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports
- Ability to train and supervise personnel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
- The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients/residents weighing over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Skills Required
- Valid RN license to work in the state of Virginia

Lucy Corr is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) located in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Serving active seniors aged 62 and older, it provides a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and adult day care, ensuring residents have access to quality health and wellness services throughout their aging process.
