In Assisted Living, the nurse’s influence extends far beyond clinical responsibilities.

As the RN Delegating Nurse, you serve as the clinical leader who helps ensure residents receive safe, thoughtful support while maintaining dignity and independence. You will also mentor and guide the caregiving team, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to support residents each day.

At The Village at Rockville, this role is about more than compliance. It’s about partnering with families, guiding the care team, and supporting residents in living well within a vibrant community.

In this role, you’ll focus on clinical oversight, delegation, and mentoring the team, allowing you to practice at the top of your license while supporting residents and staff across the assisted living community.

Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $44.00 – $54.00 per hour. Placement within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Clinical Leadership

Provide clinical oversight for residents in the assisted living program by conducting assessments, issuing nursing and clinical orders, and ensuring resident needs are appropriately addressed through individualized service planning.

Delegation & Staff Development

Safely delegate nursing tasks in accordance with Maryland COMAR regulations and Maryland Board of Nursing standards, including assessing the resident, task, environment, and staff competency. Provide training, coaching, and competency validation to ensure delegated tasks are performed safely and consistently.

Coordination & Quality

Partner with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to support admissions, transitions in health status, and ongoing service planning. Maintain accurate documentation, monitor clinical processes such as medication administration and infection control, and ensure regulatory requirements are met.

What You Bring

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland
  • Maryland Board of Nursing–approved Delegating Nurse certification
  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatric settings
  • Knowledge of Maryland Board of Nursing standards for nursing practice and delegation
  • Current CPR and Adult First Aid certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
  • Ability to maintain confidential resident information

Preferred

  • Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatric care
  • Experience delegating nursing tasks and overseeing medication administration
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
  • Completion of the 80-hour Assisted Living Manager training program
