As a member of the Retrofit, Modification, and Upgrade (RMU) Center of Excellence (COE) leadership team, you will be responsible for driving short and long-cycle decoupled growth through robust program and pipeline management for Aftermarket (AM) products, systems, and offerings. The RMU COE develops and certifies Aftermarket solutions for all channels (airlines, business and general aviation aircraft, and military customers – across all regions). This role will be predominantly focused on the Commercial Aftermarket, while being ready to support the other markets as needed. The RMU COE is looking for a strong Program Director to lead, empower and motivate teams that design, develop, integrates and tests highly complex products and systems making them compatible for the Aftermarket deployment. You will work effectively across geographical boundaries and act as a change agent. You will staff and assign capable program management resources to RMU programs based on the demand from AOP/STRAP plan. You will provide tactical and strategic guidance to a cross-functional team of highly talented professionals who are responsible for program execution, aftermarket engineering, technical oversight, and supporting RMU Pipeline Development and Growth workstream.
The selected individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, MROs/Channel Partners, and Customers to enable AOP achievement and YOY growth over STRAP. The Program Director provides leadership and responsibility for program schedule & cost execution, Short Range Outlook (SRO), Program change management (PFCRs), Revenue recognition in customer funded programs, IPDS process adherence, Accolade Keycode management, AOP/STRAP activities, and presentations to T1/T2 leadership. The Program Director will help drive the Management Operating System (MOS) on a portfolio of programs and new RMU opportunities, and support the streamlining efforts of existing processes to reduce cycle time and cost. The person must be highly motivated, self-directed, and familiar with key avionics and/or mechanical systems, understand STC or aircraft certification activities, and be results oriented. You will work under minimal supervision and report directly to the RMU COE Sr. Director.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of Program Managers to achieve business results including product certifications, aircraft certifications, and seamless entry into service on new product introductions to unlock new revenue for the Commercial Aftermarket.
- Partner with offering/product management, customer business teams, integrated supply chain, engineering, customer support and other representation to deliver business results.
- Support strategic plan (STRAP) development, RMU pipeline management, and annual operating plan (AOP) implementation.
- Continuously improve the aftermarket operating system to drive growth and speed to market, while providing leadership to maintaining program management excellence (cost/schedule/EV performance) across the full portfolio of programs.
- Communicate timely, accurate, and effective program status and actions to internal and external customers.
- Drive partnership with customers and partners to obtain on-time RMU certifications, YOY RMU growth via Roadmap alignment, and obtain business results.
- Monitor & Provide oversight on program schedule and cost execution – HMR milestone status, baseline/re-baseline, deep-dive analysis and maintain required milestone fidelity at all levels; EAC changes, program change management, deep-dive EAC growth issues
- Oversee the Short Range Outlook (SRO) process for RMU programs. Identify over/under spends, support PMs in offset KCs, analyze and improve spend efficiency in RMU programs via budget movements
- Track and ensure proper revenue recognition for RevCOGS programs
- Support RMU and GBE/PACs during STRAP/AOP planning
- Prepare and represent RMU in Senior Leadership meetings, Tier 1 escalations
- Coach/mentor/educate the program team on program execution best practices
