This position is full time remote and requires the candidate hold an active secret clearance.
We are seeking a highly skilled RMF Technical Writer with 10-15 years of experience to play an integral role in the documentation process supporting RMF (Risk Management Framework) development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation in complex, regulated environments, particularly those aligned with RMF standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documents, manuals, policies, and procedures supporting RMF implementation and compliance.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance teams to gather information and translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
• Ensure all documentation meets federal and organizational standards for RMF, including NIST guidelines.
• Review and update documents throughout the RMF lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior writers and team members regarding RMF documentation standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10-15 years of professional technical writing experience, with significant exposure to Risk Management Framework environments.
• Strong familiarity with federal compliance standards and cybersecurity documentation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with NIST publications and federal RMF processes.
• Proficiency in document management systems and technical editing tools.
• Ability to interpret and document complex cybersecurity controls and requirements.
