Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Performs consultative risk management and improvement services which may include large and/or special accounts of some complexity.
Provides risk assessment information on complex accounts to support the underwriting process for prospective, new and renewal accounts. Submits corresponding Risk Control recommendations or business solutions to minimize identified exposures. Provides risk control education to law firms and insured attorneys via live webinars, in person seminars, hotline calls and written publications.
Assesses law firm exposures and works with Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Legal and Marketing departments to inform law firm and insured attorneys of relevant risks in their practice settings.
Makes recommendations on the development and implementation of risk control policy, marketing and business strategy to support the growth, achievement and overall enterprise profit and growth strategies.
Develops and maintains business relationships with internal and external business partners.
Develops and conducts educational materials, training, and presentations, both in person and virtually.
Provides expertise to both internal and external customers.
May identify opportunities for and/or develop new products and services.
Conducts agency/broker meetings to build relationships, discuss account or book of business issues and market CNA's products and services to support territorial business needs.
May be responsible for special projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Experience with risk control, risk management, legal ethics, professional responsibility, and professional liability, and possesses a strong understanding of the law governing legal professionals.
- Proven ability to assess, mitigate, and manage complex legal and reputational risks in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to provide clear, practical guidance on complex issues.
- Demonstrated ability to be aneffective and engaging speakerin professional settings, includingwebinars, training programs, and live presentations.
- Experience developing and delivering content to legal professional audiences, with the ability to explain complex legal or risk-related topics clearly and confidently.
- Comfortable facilitating discussions, answering questions in real time, and adapting communication style to suit different formats and audiences.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craftclear, concise, and engaging contenton complex topics related torisk management, professional liability, legal ethics, and professional responsibility.
- Ability to translate technical or regulatory concepts into accessible language for a variety of stakeholders
- Advanced technical and product specific expertise, risk control evaluation and assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize multiple concurrent assignments.

Education and Experience
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar licensure in good standing.
2. 5-7 years of experience as a practicing attorney

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
