On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer who will ensures the organization operates within all legal and regulatory frameworks in East Africa. The officer identifies potential risks and implements mitigation strategies to protect the company’s reputation and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular risk assessments across operations, finance, and IT.
- Ensure compliance with regional Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Data Protection laws.
- Develop and update internal policy manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and report on regulatory changes from bodies like the CMA, CBK, or BoT.
- Organize compliance training sessions for staff to foster a culture of integrity.
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Finance, or Risk Management. Professional certification (e.g., CISA, CRM) is an advantage.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and deep understanding of the EAC regulatory environment.
- 3 - 5 years in a risk, audit, or compliance function.
