The Rides department is looking for motivated and energetic associates to take our guests to the next level! As a Ride Operator at Gilroy Gardens, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the rides while providing excellent guest service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors, with continual exposure to a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks involving the hands and wrists.
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to visually watch a spinning ride while the ride is in motion, without experiencing dizziness or disorientation
- Ability to distinguish various color patterns, including shades of red and green.
- Ability to work at heights; not acrophobic (no fear of heights).
- Ability to work outdoors with exposure to a wide variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a confined space; approximately 2’ by 2’.
- Ability to detect high and low frequency sounds to determine the safe operation of the ride; including alarm bells, machinery noise, and verbal warnings.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other employees of the organization
- Ability to work with employees and guests in a positive, productive and professional manner
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to pass a mandatory drug test.

- Ability to work effectively and achieve department goals under time constraints and quality pressures.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor during emotionally charged situations
