As an RF Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing radio frequency systems that support aerospace applications. Your expertise will contribute to advancing avionics technology, ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of aircraft systems through innovative RF solutions.
You will report directly to our engineering leadership and you’ll work out of our Woburn, MA location on an on-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development and enhancement of wireless and RF systems critical to aerospace technology, supporting Honeywell's mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve flight safety and operational efficiency.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Requirements generation/review/management and the decomposition/allocation into appropriate sub-system/component levels
- Design/allocate functional elements of a system; RF/antenna, digital, I/O, SW, Mechanical
- Generate system block diagrams, interconnection drawings (ICDs), and assembly outline drawings
- Conduct trade analysis, architectural studies, and characteristic modeling for performance
- Propose technical solutions and define potential impacts on cost, schedule and programmatic risk
- Calculate/generate models, RF chains, or simulations aiding in deriving/allocating requirements or predicted performance for compliance
- Recommend, plan, lead, review, and identify risks for R&D efforts
- Integrate and test modules or subsystems in various laboratory or field environments
- Generate technical material/estimates for submission and/or briefing to internal/external customers
- Occasional domestic travel to support government/industry sponsored activities; industry-days, CONOP exercises, technical interchanges
- Present to senior leadership and customers regularly

QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Four (4) years of technical work experience with RF design exposure
- One (1) year of experience performing RF measurements such as; VSWR, Noise Figure, Gain, Compression using test equipment (e.g. network analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, etc.)
- One (1) year of experience working with frequencies from microwave to millimeter wave (10 to 40 Ghz)
- Must be a “US Citizen” with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
WE VALUE
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems, or Physics
- Fifteen (10) + years of RF technical work, primarily in the Defense Industry
- Created printed circuit designs, schematic captures (e.g. Altium), or 3D printed devices
- Designed to and/or specified requirements for EW, radar, or communication systems
- RF/microwave principles and subsystem analysis methodologies
- Integration, validation & verification experience for system compliance determination
- Experience programming with MATLAB or other scripting language (e.g. Python), simulation tools (e.g. AWR, ADS, HFSS, or CST)
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS), and model-based systems engineering methodology (e.g. CATIA)
- Strong verbal communication skills with ability to present data and explain results to key stakeholders
- Active DOD Secret Clearance
