As an RF De-Sense Engineer specializing in wireless consumer devices like smartphones and wearables, you will tackle the intricate challenges of electromagnetic interference to deliver high-performance wireless solutions. Your expertise will drive the integration of more features and sensors into compact form factors, optimizing technologies such as WiFi and Bluetooth.
Responsibilities- Develop end-to-end RF desense systems, covering design, validation, debugging, and production to ensure optimal wireless performance.
- Analyze product operations' impact on wireless performance, identifying potential noise sources and desense risks.
- Review and evaluate product designs at various stages, including schematic, board layout, and mechanical structure.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams—including wireless, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers—on research, prototyping, and implementation.
- Utilize RF desense concepts like shielding, grounding, filtering, and isolation to inform design and debugging, leveraging both measurement and simulation data.
- Design and develop desense test methods and setups, executing comprehensive validation exercises.
- Propose corrective actions to address identified desense issues and effectively communicate validation results through organized reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in RF design and wireless technologies.
- 2+ years of experience in analyzing and debugging RF desense issues in consumer products
- Experience with performing complex rework (mock-ups)
- Proficiency in RF schematic and PCB layout best practices.
- Hands-on experience with general-purpose RF test equipment, including Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, and Oscilloscope.
- Proficiency in electromagnetic (EM) simulations and familiarity with tools such as Ansys HFSS and CST Microwave Studio.
- Proficiency in English
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on RF hardware or Electromagnetics.
- 2+ years of experience in design optimization for RF desense performance
- Familiarity with additional wireless technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, Cellular, GPS and expertise in using test call boxes for cellular testing.
- Experience with advanced noise mitigation techniques, including shielding, grounding, filtering, and isolation.
