Description
About Brook
Brook is The Remote Care Company. Building on our foundation in remote care, we provide the connected operating system that combines clinical AI, care teams, connected devices, and end-to-end delivery to enable continuous, longitudinal care at scale.
We support adults managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure, while also helping people reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes through Brook+, our CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program.
Working alongside clinics, hospitals, and health plans, we help patients stay connected, engaged, and supported between visits through a combination of technology, clinical expertise, and proactive outreach. The approach enables earlier intervention, improves the patient experience, reduces administrative burden on care teams, and helps healthcare organizations deliver better outcomes more efficiently.
The result is healthier patients, more satisfied providers, fewer avoidable hospitalizations, and a more scalable and sustainable approach to chronic care management.
Our Ambition
Make continuous care the new standard of healthcare.
Run the continuous care infrastructure that extends clinical teams and empowers patients to achieve better health outcomes.
Brook. The Remote Care Company
For our patients. For our partners. For each other.
Requirements
The Role
The Revenue Cycle Associate, Charge Entry is the accuracy engine at the front of Brook’s billing process. The role enters charges, demographics, and insurance details cleanly and on time, so claims can go out right the first time — the foundation everything downstream in the revenue cycle depends on.
Working within the Revenue Cycle team, the Associate handles high-volume, detail-sensitive data entry against daily deadlines, flags anything that looks wrong, keeps documentation tidy and audit-ready, and handles protected health information with care and discretion. The role suits a highly detail-oriented, dependable person who takes pride in precision and consistent, on-time work in a healthcare revenue-cycle environment.
What the Role Owns
Charge & Data Entry
- Enters charges, procedure and diagnosis codes, patient demographics, and insurance details accurately and on time.
- Prepares clean claim data so claims can be submitted right the first time, minimizing rework and delays.
- Keeps pace with high daily volumes without sacrificing accuracy.
Accuracy & Validation
- Reviews entries against source documents to catch and correct errors before claims move downstream.
- Flags missing, inconsistent, or unusual information to the Revenue Cycle Specialist or Manager.
- Maintains accurate, audit-ready records of what was entered and when.
- Handles protected health information (PHI) in strict accordance with HIPAA and Brook’s privacy and security policies.
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Supports the broader Revenue Cycle team on charge-entry backlogs and time-sensitive batches.
- Follows established workflows and helps spot recurring issues or bottlenecks in the entry process.
- Learns Brook’s systems and billing fundamentals, building toward broader revenue-cycle responsibility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of accuracy in high-volume data entry.
- Comfortable meeting daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of healthcare billing and claims — or the eagerness to learn it quickly.
- Understanding of HIPAA and the confidential handling of protected health information (PHI); treats patient data with discretion.
- Proficiency entering data in EMR/EHR or billing systems, and with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Dependable, organized, and accountable, with clear written communication.
- Service-oriented and collaborative — comfortable flagging issues and asking questions.
- Comfortable in an AI-enabled environment — uses AI tools to work faster and double-check accuracy.
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year of data entry, charge entry, or billing support (healthcare a plus).
- Exposure to EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) or medical billing.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working at Brook
Three commitments anchor the work — for our patients, for our partners, and for each other. Brook moves fast in two of the most demanding industries in America, and the way the team shows up to each other is the way it shows up to the patients who count on Brook.
- No bystanders. A gap or a risk gets brought forward, not worked around — effort and credit are shared across the team.
- Honest, with care. Pushback is thoughtful, and decisions are anchored in what serves patients and partners.
- Operational rigor, with AI in the loop. Daily, skeptical, accountable use of AI-enabled tooling — and the judgment to know where AI carries the work and where a human must.
Why this Role
Every clean claim starts here. The Revenue Cycle Associate builds the accuracy the whole revenue cycle relies on — foundational, high-impact work with room to take on more over time.
