We are seeking a meticulous and expert Revenue Accountant to join our finance team! As a Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for accurately recording and reporting revenue transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and supporting financial analysis and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and reconcile revenue transactions: Accurately record revenue transactions in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. Reconcile revenue accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Revenue recognition: Apply appropriate revenue recognition principles based on the nature of revenue transactions, including software licenses, subscriptions, and services in accordance with ASC606 regulations.
  • Financial analysis: Assist in financial analysis by providing insights into revenue trends, variances, and performance metrics. Prepare reports and presentations for management review.
  • Compliance and audit support: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls related to revenue recognition. Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting processes, systems, and controls. Implement changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Cross-functional teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, legal, and operations to ensure alignment on revenue-related matters and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Ad hoc projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, such as system implementations, process enhancements, and financial planning activities.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting or related roles, preferably in a software or technology company.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) and experience with revenue accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop processes as needed.
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Experience working with cloud-based billing platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
  • Experience with a high volume of monthly transactions is a plus.
