About the Role

Redhorse Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Resource Efficiency Manager II to contribute significantly to the Army's energy goals at the prestigious West Point Academy. This crucial role directly impacts the Academy's sustainability initiatives, ensuring responsible resource utilization and contributing to a more resilient and energy-efficient campus. You will be instrumental in identifying, developing, and implementing energy-saving projects, leveraging your expertise to achieve substantial cost savings and environmental benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze utility data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of high energy consumption.
  • Conduct energy audits of West Point Academy facilities to assess energy efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in updating the Installation Energy & Water Plan (IEWP) and annual energy reports, ensuring compliance with Army regulations.
  • Identify and implement energy efficiency projects, from concept development to completion.
  • Provide guidance on energy project funding mechanisms, including the Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP), Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESC), Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC), and other available sources.
  • Advise on measurement and verification protocols to ensure the effectiveness of implemented energy projects.
  • Provide expertise on relevant Executive Orders and other energy policies impacting the Army and West Point Academy.
  • Assist in developing and executing awareness and behavioral change campaigns to promote responsible energy and water use among staff and cadets. This includes educating users on best practices in consumption of natural gas, electricity, coal, water, and wastewater.

Required Experience/Clearance

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or an active Professional Engineering License with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in energy management;
  • OR An Environmental Science, Business, or related degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in energy management;
  • OR A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in energy management;
  • OR No degree with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in energy management.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
  • Proven performance in military engineering and/or energy management.
  • Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations.
  • Understanding of project programming, funding, and implementation at Department of Defense installations.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills coupled with strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze data, make decisions, and solve problems daily.
  • Valid State-issued driver’s license; ability to operate a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.

Desired Experience

  • Documented ability to achieve substantial energy and maintenance savings in facility management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an energy and maintenance baseline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE), LEED Accredited Professional (AP), or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certifications.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Must be able to walk through areas with industrial equipment and processes.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds periodically, bend, stand, climb, and walk.
  • Must be able to work safely in a moderately noisy environment.

Travel

  • REM will be located at West Point Academy.
  • REM will attend an annual REM workshop in Huntsville, AL and will attend one energy conference per year, typically Energy Exchange

Compensation range for this position is the following

  • Starting $85,000.00/year to $95,000.00/year
