 What You’ll Do 

The Market Insights & Analytics Ads Research team seeks to understand and improve the value of X for both advertisers and users. As a customer-centric organization, we explore how people think, feel, and behave on X, and examine what that means for our business marketing partners and advertising clients. We are a high-performance function leveraging the best of established quantitative and qualitative research techniques as well as social listening, campaign measurement, and marketing science in our work. The Research Specialist/Analyst will join the fast-paced team of researchers focused on leveraging the voice of the customer to advocate for business and brand health. 

You will be a member of the Japan Ad Research team. The team is based in Tokyo, supporting the Japan market. We work to support our Sales teams in everything from insights to measurement as well as Marketing in showcasing our strengths. In this role, you will have an immediate impact by running insight analysis and measurements for some of our largest and growing clients. Your work will sometimes cross borders to liaise with colleagues in APAC, Europe, US and further afield. You will be client/agency facing, building relationships and presenting to partners and senior stakeholders.

One of the key parts of the role is to measure the impact of advertising on X, so we are looking for someone interested in digital ads measurement. Additionally, this role will also involve drawing insights to support clients in both our largest and growing sectors. You will be a natural storyteller with the ability to find themes and narratives and to deliver research projects in creative ways. You will be comfortable working with all types of brands - large and small, established and emerging, branding-oriented and performance-oriented - to lead, coordinate, execute and deliver the appropriate measurement for their campaigns.

  • The Research Specialist/Analyst will receive some directions and supervision from senior members to work with internal and external stakeholders to bring business impacts through insights and measurements.

  • You will work as a part of the team responsible for delivering research and measurements for our Sales and Marketing teams.

  • This role requires close collaboration with the research team members across the regions from APAC, Europe, and North America.

  • You will join meetings with clients/agencies to present the research findings and implications. 

  • You will have the opportunity to help shape X’s business marketing and sales enablement narratives and inform internal strategic decisions. 

Who You Are 

  • You enjoy working with data, including analyzing datasets for insights and key findings. 

  • You have experience working with quantitative surveys, including questionnaire development, data analysis, and summarizing findings in reports. You have experience using statistical techniques to draw insights from data to make informed recommendations. 

  • You have knowledge and experience in campaign measurements.

  • You have knowledge of social listening tools and have experience building queries to pull the data. 

  • Preferably, you have experience with analytical tools/languages such as R and SQL.

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in business, marketing, social sciences, statistics, or related experience in a quantitative field for 2-5 years, encompassing quantitative social or media research, market research, or analytics.

  • You have attention to details and are highly organized.

  • You are a self-starter who takes initiative and can balance the need for quick turnaround with longer-term strategic efforts.

  • You have a client-responsive, customer service mindset. 

  • You are interested in and comfortable with collaborating with a thriving team of researchers, sales, and marketing with diverse backgrounds and have skill sets to influence some of the biggest decisions in the marketing organization and the company.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills both in Japanese and English.

  • Prior experience working at a consumer technology, media company, marketing research vendor, or creative agency is a plus.
