Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey has an immediate need for a researcher to join our team. This person will play a vital role in providing Allie with relevant, credible, and accurate topics to discuss on air. This is a part- time, fully remote position with the potential to be full time.
About You:
You work hard and have fun doing it. You have excellent language and communication skills and know how to unpack a good story for Allie’s audience when you see it. You understand the modern political and cultural environment and can translate that into entertaining and informative content. You value accuracy and attention to detail. You are a self-starter that likes to collaborate. You maintain high quality in your work while meeting tight deadlines. You are driven to create research packages for episodes and guest segments that allow for conversations not happening anywhere else in conservative media.
Job Responsibilities:
• Create a daily show rundown of summarized and fully researched topics and stories decided upon by the team (usually around 1pm CT), to be completed by 8pm CT each day before the next day’s show (research on Sundays will sometimes be needed). Rough hours are 12pm - 8pm but some flexibility is built in.
• Create show rundowns featuring short book summaries and relevant topical articles for guest segments; work on deep dive research topics for segments.
• Be flexible after 6pm CT for minor adjustments to show rundown.
• Keep up to date on news of the day, regularly pitching stories and topics (both in the theology and political sphere), and segments that will interest Relatable listeners.
• Spend time watching the show to better understand how to shape rundowns and research.
• Be familiar with various news outlets and their biases and ensure everything is fact-checked sufficiently.
• Occasionally prep research for special episodes and live shows (such as Election Night specials).
Qualifications :
• 1 year of related research or communications experience preferred
• Interest and familiarity with the show and brand, and familiarity with the evangelical Christian world.
• Proven track record of strong news and editorial judgement
Education:
Your education credentials don’t matter as much as on-the-job experience and quality of work.
