We are an applied research lab that conducts AI research and builds agentic product.
We are a small company that trains our own model, builds our own infra, builds agents that substantially outperform those of big labs, and have rapidly growing revenue.
We are looking for people who are very smart and curious. AI/CS background welcome of course, but not required.
For example, recent grads (or current undergrads willing to take time off school) from math/physics background.
The basic rationale is that using agents, you don't have to know a lot to be effective. But you do need to be curious and smart to keep learning from doing stuff and from agents.
We are very technical and our customers are mostly in finance, so a technical background is necessary.
Skills Required
- Very smart and curious
- Technical background (ability to work on ML/infra/agent systems)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt using agentic tools
- AI or Computer Science background
- Math or physics background or recent graduate status
What We Do
Fundamental Research Labs is building digital humans—machines with the capacity to learn, care, and grow alongside us. We're an applied research company building autonomous, collaborative, and socially intelligent agents. Our small team includes computational neuroscientists, AI researchers, engineers, and builders from MIT EECS, Stanford NLP Group, Google X, Citadel, and beyond. Our research prototypes began with multi-agent experiments in games like Minecraft and Roblox, where over a million people have interacted with our agents. Today, we're bringing those agents out of the sandbox and into the real world—starting with your computer.
