Job Summary

As a Research Engineer, you will join our 6G research team on systems and protocols. The team develops innovative technologies that address the challenges of future wireless systems, with a focus on solutions relevant to the standardization process, targeting ETSI, IETF and 3GPP. Within this 12-month fixed-term contract, the objective is to contribute to the team’s effort in exploring and developing technology in the area of agentic protocols and AI agents for 6G systems. The output of the employment aims at answering foundational feasibility and applicability questions of agentic behavior of a potentially AI agent-enabled mobile network, with the aim of targeting relevant standardization groups.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse technological trends on agentic protocols and AI agents

• Contribute to the team’s effort in developing new technology for 6G mobile networks

• Contribute to proof-of-concepting activities to implement and validate developed technology in a lab-based deployment

• Support the team in disseminating the results into pre-standardisation fora

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical fields. Alternatively, strong Master’s degree with three years work experience

• Experience in research or innovation, including published research papers or patents in telecommunications.

• Experience with prototyping in python3

• Experience with AI model training and inference or AI agent development would be a great addition

• Interest in protocols such as HTTP, QUIC or A2A/MCP

• Exceptional communication skills with English language fluency

• Ability to multitask, analyze, and problem-solve issues
